Hmmm....normally I manage to post the day after the Sisters get themselves together for our regular sewing day.  Not sure what has happened but I am feeling a bit like the white rabbit this week, running late for everything.  This month we met at Kerry's home and this was laid out on the floor for all of us to see on arrival.

Kerry has decided that 2012 is the year of the finish - and she is edging closer to completing Homage to Sally Ann.  Sorry about the quality of the photo.  For those that have seen finished versions of Sally Ann you will know that this is a big quilt (and my little camera just couldn't cope).

Sue has fallen in love with the portability and rhythm of paper piecing hexagons.  She is loving making Will's quilt (not so zen- quilts in Paris) The pattern is in November /December 2011 Quiltmania.

And Di has resumed work on her Baltimore quilt.  How Di sees and uses fabrics is inspiring.  The use of the red feather stripe from Windham Fabrics Eagle Medallion Collection is a perfect example.

Until next time...

Sewing In The Rain!

Is'nt it great to get a group of friends gather around a big table, in a nice warm room and sew while the rain and wind all happen outside!?

Well that's exactly what happened last week when the Secret Sewing Sisterhood got together for our "First Thursday of The Month" sewing session!
Deb and Meaghan where absent because of work committments........Oh! for an early retirement for more sewing time!

Barb had a little bit of "show and tell"................

Then, a little bit more...........
Whoops!!..forgot to do that 90 degree right turn!..and blogger will not help me!......so, everyone tilt your head to the left! I did get the cute back the right way up!!!.............well, that's my story!!!
After all that ...........a little of this!!...............and these!

Thanks Clare, for all your hard work in the kitchen to provide the necessary sustenance for your fellow sisters! It gave us the strength to carry on sewing for that afternoon!

Here is Sue working on her Hexagon quilt from Quiltmania and next is Di's version, coming along nicely. Now.........what is that part hexagon sitting on???.....could it be another project for that future book???Hmmmm!!! Ann is completing the Broderie Perse for the Antique Wedding Sampler: revisited, Merri was also working on her version and me? I was stitching the 2nd panel in the "Deb's Not Quite Telling The Truth, Easy Applique Quilt"!!.........which is coming along quite nicely.................................and Clare??........Clare was busy booking flights and tickets to the Sydney quilt show in July. Maybe some of us might just see you there!
Meanwhile Happy Stitching!

Just a Note!

I have had a couple of quilters/patchers ask about the particular "Tea-stain" fabric that the Secret Sewing Sisterhood prefer...actually, it is our favourite!!.......and it is the one we are using for the 2012 "Quilts In The Barn" Raffle quilt*
It is made by XLN, Tea-stain , 1045, the medium one, commonly known as 'B'
Not to say we do not make use of the 'A' and 'C' ones...........think that is code for lighter and darker!!
Or.......other fabric company ones as well!!!
BUT our MOST favourite is the 'B' one!
*Don't forget to save those $'s up to buy the tickets!!
Happy Stitching!
