Just for you Kathy!

It was Thursday sewing today and while I do not have any finished quilts to show there is progress being made on several fronts, most notably by Di as she endeavours to meet deadlines for new quilts using her beautiful new fabric range for Andover Fabrics -  Cloverdale House.  Here is a sneak peak of 2 quilts that I believe are Andover / Houston bound.

First up a 'strippy' quilt, still in pieces but coming along nicely.  The finished quilt will have 3 columns of pieced blocks separated by the serpentine print in teal with a border of the teal column print.

The second quilt will have a broderie perse centre medallion cut from the cream column print.  This will have borders and lots of half square triangles added before it is finished.

And the third quilt Di has underway will make its debut at classes being held at Mary Koval's Quilt Shop in Bedford, PA following Houston.  The centre is a very large broderie perse medallion made from Mary's Palampore.  The photo is all out of proportion but I can guarantee that it is beautiful.

Di has taken the scissors to the Palampore and completely deconstructed (a posh word for cut it into pieces) it before putting it back to gather again.  The border of Caeser's Crown blocks is complete but not attached as yet.

And what else was on the table today?  Firstly some blocks from Barb's "Never Ending Story Quilt" aka the Burnt Quilt.  Barb has been working on this for a long time now and some times thinks it will never be finished!

Clare, despite a very sore shoulder, has been sewing lots and lots of 1/2 inch hexies for our Challenge Quilt.  The challenge this time round is for each of the Sisters to reproduce a quilt from Kay and Lori Lee Triplett and Xenia Cord's gorgeous book for Quiltmania - 'Chintz Quilts from the Poos Collection'.  Needless to say, some of us are more advanced than others.  Reveal day is scheduled for our annual Christmas celebration visit to our lovely friends Corliss and Megan at Threadbear in Castlemaine

And to finish off this post, I have completed the centre for Pendle Hill by Di.  This is an unfinished story (as opposed to never ending) as Di has not yet designed the next section of this quilt.  No wonder given how busy she has been with the new fabric line.  I have loved making this quilt so far and look forward to completing it some time in the future.
